PJ was born by emergency c-section. I woke up bleeding around 5am and we rushed across the street to the hospital. Got to be awake for the c-section (they gave her a spinal). Josh supervised the procedure. Josh’s eyes bugged out and he asked me if I was OK. Thankfully, they draped me so I couldn’t see the procedure myself! Got to see our new baby boy. He cried pretty lustily right away but the NICU nurse practitioner, Dave, heard him grunting and said he’d need some supervision in the NICU for his lungs. Josh got to hold him real quickly and bring him over to me for a second. Right before they took him away, Dave let me give him a little kiss on the cheek. Here are a couple of pictures from that day…
Oma and Josh visited PJ while I was in recovery. Here’s Oma looking at the new baby.
Josh still in his scrubs from the surgery.
Holding PJ’s little hand.
Kc, fresh from the recovery room, got to visit. They wheeled my be in there to see him.
Checking out his little feetsies.
