PJ’s second day in the world. Struggling to breathe. Hard to watch! I was still in the hospital of course, recovering from the c-section. Was able to get out of bed, but not walk far. Visited PJ by wheelchair. Hard not to be able to hold him. They wouldn’t feed him because they needed to get his breathing under control first. Started pumping. What fun!

Poor little guy was pretty irritable…sensitive to touch…broke our hearts! They covered his head with a blanket to calm him down some. Waiting to see whether he develops the surfactant for his lungs on his own or whether he’ll have to be intibated.
