I went garage saling this morning with my friend Brooke who is pregnant. My friend Leigh Anne took me garage saling and to consignment sales when I was pregnant and it was really helpful. Anyway, I printed out all the garage sales with baby items, arranged them by zip code and time they opened and picked up Brooke at 6:15. I should have located where these things were on the map! We spent probably 15 minutes trying to figure out where certain streets were. Funny to go back to the “old way” of doing maps. You have to look up the street name on the back and use the reference A-27 and find it. I usually use yahoo maps now – punch in the address and show me how to get there!
We had fun even though it was very early. I left PJ sleeping with Josh so that we were quite mobile. First garage sale we hit I found a neat wooden high chair. I had wanted a wooden high chair! I didn’t want to have to get one of those plasticy ones. I had looked at wooden ones and knew they were around $90 new. This one she wanted $35 for. I couldn’t resist. [Imagine picture of wooden high chair here].
Brooke didn’t buy anything. I think she was overwhelmed with what the heck to get. I know I was when I was pregnant! There is so much baby crap out there…
PJ started holding his head up today. Well, he was doing that a bit in Alaska, but had stopped when we got home. So today when we put him down on his stomach, he cranes his neck way up and looks all around. So much so, that he won’t nap anymore! He cries and is cranky and all tired, but he won’t go to sleep. He’s so excited he can look all around!
First snow in Anchorage today. Six inches. Broke a 1955 record or something. A picture of our friends here:

Genuinely changed how I think about a small piece of the topic, which does not happen often online, and a look at outrankoutlet added another nudge in the same direction, the kind of writing that earns a small mental shift rather than just confirming what you already thought before reading is a sign of careful thought.
