Camera battery did not solve the problem. :(. Doing the same thing with the new battery. Looks like an AC/DC problem or something.
Went to a function tonite with Josh where they had child care. I didn’t want to leave PJ with strangers so I kept him with me most of the time. It was a dinner and speaker at a church sort of thing. I had him in the sling through the dinner part. Josh had to cut my chicken for me. Then of course, when the speaker started, it was time to nurse PJ. So I took him out of the room and was able to nurse him in one of the kid rooms. Then I tried to take him back into the speaker, but he was a little fidgety. I went out into the hall and one of the nursery workers offered to lay him down in a crib in the nursery. She said she had made up two beds because she heard there was a two month old and an eight month old coming. So I went with her and laid PJ on his stomach in one of the cribs and LEFT! I thought he would probably just lay there and perhaps go to sleep. Plus, there was only 15-20 minutes left anyway. So I came back after the speaker was finished, and sure enough, he we right there where I left him. Not crying or anything, but mushing his face around in his own spit up! I should have laid him on a washcloth like I do at home. They had some other kids in there, so I can’t expect that they would have seen it. And I’m sure if PJ was my second child, he would be laying in his spit up on a more frequent basis. But he is my first child and so I am neurotic!
Borrowed a swing from a lady at church. My sister’s baby loves the swing. Said I had to get one. So I went to borrow the swing and got a playmat thing, too. Brought them home and tried them out. It was a mesmerizing day for PJ. Hypnotized him in the swing [imagine picture of PJ cross-eyed in swing here], and fascinated him with the black and white stripes and polka dots of the playmat [imagine PJ laying on his back staring at black and white arch here]. I’m not sure if he really likes the swing yet. He looks mesmerized and then will cry a bit. But the pacifier calms him. He can’t seem to quite fall asleep in there. He gets really close, but can’t quite let go.
Have been going without caffiene, chocolate, and wheat for a day now. Seems to be making a difference in PJ’s gas, but I think I need to do it for a few days to be sure. His gas problem fluxuates, so it’s hard to tell. Going without wheat is hard for me! I LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEE bread. And cereal. And crackers. All that stuff. I would be happy to just eat bread and fruit. I am not an Adkin’s diet kind of girl.
Still working on the infant potty training [imagine photo of PJ sitting on white Baby Bjorn potty seat with my support]. After my first catch, I’ve had no success. I’m reading up more on it. It looks like I’m going to have to let PJ go naked for a day and make a real mess and see when he goes. That is going to take some work! The nearest “Elimination Communciation” group to me is 4 hours away. I really wish I could have a coach for this. My friend Leigh Anne says she’s a skeptic. I’m not a skeptic, but I am skeptical about me being able to figure it out!
