Full Time Jobs

So I was browsing the Wichita paper for jobs… Oracle DBA Architect, Programmer Analyst, Jr. Quantitative Software Developer Analyst, Database Administrator, Software Instructor, Help Desk – Level 2, Software Installation Developer — These are the kinds of jobs I qualify for… They drum up in my mind hours of frustration, a few glorious “AHA!” moments, donuts and powdered hot chocolate at long meetings, harassment from male programmers, falling asleep reading technical manuals, projects halfway done getting cancelled, red licorice… The glory days. Hmmm. I had bad days or weeks at work, too.

So I’m thinking, when the kids get over this cold and we start sleeping through the night again, perhaps I should put as much effort into parenting and my web business as I would finding full time work. I could get up at 6 every morning to take my shower and get a jump on the kids. I could put more effort into hiring some help during the week so I can get some web work done. I could pray for some more business. That is sounding a little better than dusting off the resume, answering lots of ads, buying interview clothes, finding a sitter for interviews, finding a daycare program, and working at a job I don’t care too much about…

We shall see…
